PDAM: Now pay taps bill with garbage

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: Regional Water Company (PDAM) Bandarmasih, Banjarmasin, now open cooperation with garbage banks, Antaranews reported.

Director of PDAM Bandarmasih Ir H Muslih on Saturday explained, the form of such cooperation eg public trash bins can be stored in the bank to pay tap bills. "You'll be able to pay the bills with your garbage in the garbage bank," he told reporters in Banjarmasin.

He said he has communicated the possibility of cooperation with a number of garbage banks in Banjarmasin, even there is a chance that PDAM give aid to garbage bank who's committed in implementing the program.

"We can help with a computer later for the garbage bank," he said, as he reveals there are about 10 trash banks to cooperate with PDAM.

According to him, the cooperation program help the area cope with the cleanliness of the environment and attempt to save the flow of river and soil pollution from household waste.

"In this case we also communicate with the Head of the Regional Environmental Agency (BLHD) H Hamdi and waste banks initiator activator Fathurrahman," he continued.

Of communication with the two men, he said, they both appreciate the step. They agree, in the future, the trash through a garbage bank account to pay the tap, electricity, and telephone in the official payment.

That way, he added, people aware and feel the benefits of waste banks in the region could be even harder to bring their garbage to the bank for savings. No more carelessly discarded, destroy and pollute the environment, not again to make smelly and uncomfortable to look at.

Regent Tabalong ask PLTS project postponed

TANJUNG, South Kalimantan: Regent Tabalong, AnangSyakhfiani, ask Solar Power Project (SPP) for Muara Uya and Bintang Ara to be delayed by reasons of time constraints and other technical considerations, Antaranews reported.

"If PLTS projects in the Salikung village and Dambung village can not be realized this year they should be postponed to be continued next year," said Anang while chairing an exposure meeting for the 2014 budget absorption here on Thursday

Anang realized this year some projects could not be implemented for various reasons such as resignation of manufacturer's commitment official, the failure of the tender process to a third party factor that can not meet the requirements as the project implementer.

Police ticketed 22 motor racing

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: Police raided illegal racing on Jalan A Yani Km 5 Banjarmasin and secured 22 motorcycles, Antaranews reported.

"Motorists did not have a complete correspondence driving," said Deputy Banjarmasin Resort Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner (AKBP) W Dwi Ariwibowo here on Tuesday.

He stated, wild race motorcycles secured or held for about one month, then the owner will be given a permission to redeem the ticket.

"Let one month of them (illegal racers) do not use the vehicle. We hope they give up illegal road race," he said.

"If at any time caught again doing illegal road race, sanctions plus a month, and so if caught several times," he continued.

During this time, he acknowledges, wild racing on the highway is very annoying and makes other road users get danger, not to mention the safety of the illegal driver himself.

Kotabaru need post-mining reclamation guarantee

KOTABARU, South Kalimantan: The Kotabaru government should publish Local Regulations governing the post-mining reclamation guarantee, because in general the Mining Permit holder has not provided a proportionate reclamation fund, Antaranews reported.

"In order not to disadvantage areas, local governments need to make `umbrella` the law that governs how much funding guarantees corresponding to reclaim land that has been mined," said the expert staff of the Kotabaru Regent on Economics and Finance, H Akhmad Rivai, here on Monday.

Rivai explains, as a follow-up to Government Regulation No. 78 Year 2010 regarding Reclamation and Post-Mining, the IUP Exploration/Production Operations and IUPK Exploration/Production Operations, reclamation shall provide assurance both stages of exploration and production, in accordance with the determination of the amount of reclamation guarantee by Regent.

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: Banjarmasin City Government through the Water Resources Agency (SDA) has allocated Rp42 billion to implement the program activities of major rivers during 2014, Antaranews reported.

There are five areas of activity during 2014 that must be implemented for large rivers, said Head of SDA Banjarmasin, Ir Muryanta here on Sunday.

Among the activities referred to in the implementation of normalization and large river dredging worth Rp 3,8 billion, then rehabilitation or maintenance of large rivers as examples Martapura River which divides the city and has a value of Rp2 billion.

Other events are Martapura river bank revitalization and restructuring among the area of Jalan RK Ilir, Jalan Sungai Baru and Jalan Sudirman, precisely front of the headquarters of Korem worth Rp29,2 billion, he said.
