6,000 free birth certificate requests at HSU

AMUNTAI, South Kalimantan: The North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Population and Civil Registration Agency received 6,000 free birth certificate requests, Antaranews reported.

Since the numbers leap for applying birth certificate, Population and Civil Registration Agency (Disdukcapil) forced to employed officers overtime.

"Files accumulate up to 30 days," said Head of Hsu Disdukcapil H Fachruddin on Wednesday.

Six civil registration officers assisted by two honorary works overtime to complete the application file. They must be finished, because some had piled 30 days exceeds deadline set by the rules.

"Under normal conditions usually files request go only about 500, but after it free they jump in an average of 1,500 per month, "he said through a press release.

Banjarbaru Dismissed Tanglong Festival in Ramadan

BANJARBARU, South Kalimantan: "Tanglong and Bagarakan Sahur" festival ‎which became an annual event held each month of Ramadan abolished by the Banjarbaru City Government start of Ramadan 1435 Hijri, Antaranews reported.

Mayor Ruzaidin Noor here on Monday said the decision to scrap the festival, which became an icon of tourism of Banjarbaru, based on the input of many parties, especially the religious leaders.

Religious leaders and community leaders asked for activities, which normally undertaken on 21st Ramadan evening or night of "Salikur" brings a lot of harm than good.

Bagarakan Sahur is a traditional activity to wake people for a pre-dawn meal or suhoor to fasting. While tanglong is lentern or lampion.

"The Indonesia Ulema Council (MUI) and religious leaders requested the activity to be abolished, because it interferes the sanctity and a khusyu of a holy month of Ramadan, so we responded and decided to eliminate it," he said.

He admittedly, many events in implementation of a festival, that has lasted 13 years, can not be anticipated to the detriment of both the community and the city government. Among them, the action of firecrackers, fireworks and other noises that just bother others.

"Something good must be approved especially for the good conveyed by religious leaders, so as the regional head to decide the implementation of of the festival abolished from 2014 onwards," he said.

In lieu of activities, the city government is ready to give permission if the activities are carried out not unsettle the holy month of Ramadan especially not to disturb conducive situation that has been created.

Banjarbaru ready to adopt Surabaya handle prostitution

BANJARBARU, South Kalimantan: The Banjarbaru government is ready to emulate the steps of Surabaya, East Java, in dealing with the problem of prostitution and localization, Antaranews reported.

"Surabaya Mayor steps in dealing with Dolly will emulate," said Deputy Mayor Ogi Fajar Nuzuli here on Sunday.

The statement related with continued operation of former localized prostitution in the city even though local regulations underlying the closure of the illicit.

Banjarbaru municipal government actually has a discourse to buy land in the former localized prostitution but until now has not been realized due to various constraints.

According to him, if it can be realized that the discourse surrounding area could be used as a center for small and medium enterprises in the region to empower local communities.

"City Government through the public order agency carry out raids in the area intensively so prostitution activity can be lost," he said.

Tanah Laut will build Type B Hospital

PELAIHARI, South Kalimantan: In order to provide optimal health care to the public, the Tanah Laut government plans in the near future to build a public hospital type B, Antaranews reported.

"We are planning to build a public hospital type B," said Regent H Bambang Alamsyah in Pelaihari, Thursday (12/6). According to him, the presence of type B hospital in the district is necessary, so that people no longer refer to a hospital in Banjarmasin.

"We expect type B hospital in Pelaihari can be realized. Hopefully the support of all parties concerned,"he said.

Kifrani, a resident of RT 3 Sungai Riam Village, Subdistrict Pelaihari, said, the existence of a hospital in Pelaihari is needed. "During this time of health care for my child suffering from hydrocephalus, has been well served. However, because the hospital is still incomplete in medical personnel and equipment we are forced to be referred to Ulin general Hospital in Banjarmasin," he said.

With the type B hospital will be in Pelaihari, then his child care, Nur Azizah (12), patients hydrocepalus, no longer to Banjarmasin, but quite in Pelaihari.

"We are very grateful for the help of local governments over the years, especially in helping the treatment for Nur Azizah. Hopefully our children can recover from hydrocephalus disease, "he hoped.

Water and Sanitation Program for 5,455 Tabalong residents

TANJUNG, South Kalimantan: Community-based drinking water supply and sanitation (Pamsimas) program of the Ministry of Public Works in Tabalong is targeting 5,455 beneficiaries in eight villages, Antaranews reported.

Tabalong Pamsimas Coordinator Zainoor Rahman here on Thursday said that the program of the central government targeting the addition of water beneficiaries, including users of latrines in the target villages.

Of the eight villages target, then the largest beneficiaries in the village of Kampung Baru, Muara Uya, for 985 inhabitants, followed by Mangkupum village of 978 inhabitants. While the target of most latrines users in the village of Kembang Kuning, Subdistrict Haruai, for 705 people and Uwi village, Muara Uya, 612 people.

Eight villages Pamsimas beneficiaries this year include the village of Kampung Baru, Mangkupum Village, Uwi Village, Bongkang Village, Bumi Makmur village, Kembang Kuning village and Kasiau Raya Village.

"The allocation of funds for the eight villages from the Ministry of Public Works about Rp1.76 billion of the total Rp21,34 billion received in 2014 by South Kalimantan ," said Zainoor again.

Apart from the Ministry of Public Works, a program to provide safe drinking water is also carried out in four villages namely Hayup Village, Layung Simpung Village, the Village, Wayau Village, and Salikung with funding from the district budget.

Programs for the public drinking water supply is set according to Directorate General of Human Settlements (Dirjen Cipta Karya) Decrees numbers 79/KPTS/DC/2013, where each village had to provide 20 percent self-generated funds for implementation of this program.

Banjarmasin measures air quality

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: The Banjarmasin Regional Environmental Agency (BLHD) making measurements of air quality in the city to determine whether it impacts the health of its inhabitants,  Antaranews reported.

Head of Banjarmasin BLHD Drs Hamdi told reporters at his office on Tuesday, the air quality measurement starts on Monday (9/6) up to three days ahead.

He said in three days there four activities carried out. Besides air quality measurement, there is also emissions testing, traffic performance, check the quality of fuel oil (BBM) in seven General Fuel Filling Station (SPBU).

Selected locations for measurement of air quality, namely Jalan Kamboja, Jalan Brigjen Hasan Basri, and Jalan A Yani.

As for the fuel samples taken at the pump at Jalan A Yani Km 5, Jalan Adiyaksa, Sabilal Muhtadin, Jalan S Parman, Jalan Zafri Zamzam, and gas stations in the Lingkar Selatan.

Motor vehicle emission testing for 1500-2000 vehicles targeted, he said, adding that air measures performance 24 hours and 12 hours of traffic until the evening.

According to him, the activities carried out to determine the air quality, and as a material to determine Adipura assessment next year.
