No porcine, no pig: MoRA confirms Cadbury chocolate products tested negative for porcine DNA Posted: 08 Jun 2014 05:46 PM PDT BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Cadbury Chocolate Products, Dairy Milk Hazelnut and Dairy Milk Roasted Almond and other Cadbury Chocolate Products are eventually tested negative for porcine DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), Brudirect reported. The confirmation was made by the Ministry of Religious Affairs following a result of a laboratory analysis conducted by the Halal Science Centre, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) and the Scientific Services Department, Ministry of Health (MoH). Analysis and experiments performed by state-owned research facilities was made following a media statement by the Ministry of Religious Affairs on the May 25 that warns members of the public to refrain temporarily from consuming one of the most popular chocolate brands in the world, specifically Cadbury Dairy Milk Hazelnut and Dairy Milk Roasted Almond after these products were suspected to contain porcine DNA; a pig derivative which is among the elements considered 'Haram' (forbidden) for Muslims' consumption according to Islamic dietary law. Following the analysis, Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) expressed appreciation and gratitude to the Halal Science Centre, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources and the Scientific Service Department, Ministry of Health for their cooperation in solving the issue. However, members of the public especially the Muslim Malay majority must exercise extreme caution over what they choose to have for meals because Islam emphasises hygiene, cleanliness and purity of both physical and spiritual elements in order to have life blessed by Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala.
