Najib, why the silence? |
Posted: 13 Jan 2014 04:04 AM PST The Iban Christian communities in Sarawak have blasted Prime Minister Najib Razak for his "grim silence" over the recent seizure of Malay bibles from the Bible Society of Malaysia (BSM). According to Pastor Greman Ujang the group's chairperson for Iban Speaking Christians, they urge the federal government to immediately order the release of these bibles, and to give them an assurance that Iban language bibles and other Christian teaching materials in the Iban language remain free of any interference from any agencies of state. Menurut Pastor Greman, Pengerusi Pengelola Masyarakat Iban Kristian Mereka menggesa kabinet persekutuan dengan segera memerintahkan pelepasan Alkitab ini, dan memberi jaminan bahawa Alkitab bahasa Iban dan lain-lain bahan-bahan pengajaran Kristian dalam bahasa Iban kekal bebas daripada sebarang campur tangan mana-mana agensi kerajaan.
