RFS begins the week on a high and positive note. Denis Along reports on the latest development at Baram where the Rt. Hon Dr. Michael Teo, MP for Miri, visits the blockade to check on the situation, especially the health and living conditions of the protesters. Dr. Teo was formally adopted by a Kenyah community leader and given the name Dr. Micheal Lusat Lenjau, a great honour. The recent spate of crocodile attacks, many causing deaths, are alarming folks all over the state, especially those living by the rivers and waterways. Joshua Jabeng expostulates on the cultural significance of the crocodile in Iban mythology and explains how these attacks mean that the gods and goddesses are angry because the rivers are polluted, the lands have been defiled and the forests are being trampled on. The only form of propitiation is to remove the corrupt government that is bringing on this calamity. Over at the Murum, we hear the sad report from Abun Sui that the Penan blockade has come to an end on day 77. The forced ending of the protest was made possible by their longhouses being submerged under water, and all roads, lanes, bridges to their homes destroyed. Nevertheless, the Penan are continuing with their legal action against the state. Niah local Cassidy reports on the Niah land garb and the latest development on the negotiations between the landowners and Sachiew Holdings. Tune in to today's vibrant and fast paced show and so much more!
