The Sarawak government has continuously ignored Malaysian court rulings which have upheld the rights of indigenous peoples. Those community leaders who supported the dam, and they even went all the way to Kuching to see the Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud to say that the Baram people agreed with the building of the dam which is a blatant lie and government should not ignore the majority said Peter Kallang.
