KOTABARU, South Kalimantan: Head of the Kotabaru Mines and Energy Agency (Distamben) Kamiruddin states, to date there are 191 Mining Business Permit (IUP) in Kotabaru, Antaranews reported.

"Of the 191 IUP, 52 for coal, 55 metal minerals and 66 non-metallic minerals and rocks," Kamir said on Friday.

According to him, from 191 IUP issued, if all holders meet their obligations under the rules, then Kotabaru could be a prosperous district.

One effort to recall the rights and obligations, the Mines and Energy Agency held a technical meeting in Kotabaru mining management attended by mining companies in Kotabaru. A total of 112 representatives of IUP holder companies are presented in the technical meeting.

Kamir explained, the meeting discussed about the mining activities, such as the rights and obligations of the company and postminig activities.

After the technical management of mining meeting, he said IUP holders can understand their rights and responsibilities, both to the community, as well as central and local government.

Regent Kotabaru H Irhami Ridjani hopes holders of mining permits to always pay attention to its obligations, to the government and public welfare, especially for people those living around the mining exploration.

Irhami gives opportunities for companies who want to invest in "Sai-jaan Earth" (nickname for Kotabaru), as long as it can benefit the people of Kotabaru, local government and the company itself.
