Peter John menemuramah kaum Penan dari Long Pelutan Ulu Baram.Mereka amat kecewa kerana tak dpt berjumpa dgn wakil rakyat dari kawasan mereka seperti YB Dennis Ngau. Mereka amat gembira apabila MP Miri YB Dr Teo tampir menghulurkan bantuan.

The people appointed their own grassroots leadership!

Posted: 22 May 2014 06:16 AM PDT

Today, RFS talks to Enri Sigaw of Save Rivers Youth about the attempt by Orang Ulu 'community leaders' to deny the chairman of SAVE Rivers, Peter Kallang his right to represent those orang ulu people in Baram, who are against the proposed Baram Dam.

Sigaw comments that those 'community leaders' were never appointed by the people themselves, but by the government.  They always say what their paymasters tell them to say and they always claim that the majority of the community are supporting the dam project, which is not the truth!

Also, we follow up on the month long blockade by Iban communities in Tuyut. Adi, on behalf of the villagers tells RFS that they have successfully defended themselves against gangsters hired by the land grabbers, and are now living peacefully without interference by outsiders.

Lastly, RFS' commentator Christina Suntai analyses what is behind the newly formed  party – TERAS. She advises the folks of Saratok be wary of any promises made by Mawan Ikom in this coming election, because his track record is not promising! Fair comment?
