| Dr Holger Briel to hold workshop at Swinburne University <b>Sarawak</b> <b>...</b> Posted: 03 Feb 2014 12:10 PM PST KUCHING: Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak campus will be holding a workshop entitled 'Borderlands – Exploring Commonalities and Overcoming Challenges in Sarawak' on Feb 7 (Fri) from 10am to 3pm. This one day workshop will be led by Professor Dr Holger Briel from Xi'an Jiaotung-Liverpool University, China and will focus on the shared border of Sarawak and Kalimantan. Briel will also discuss methods of conducting an oral history project at specific locations, how to best interview people and which media to use and how to conceptualise these projects as exercised in trans-border understanding. According to a press release from the university yesterday, he will also share his analysis of national borders, which are borders inherited and constructed with economic, political and cultural agenda in mind using oral history methodology as a tool. Members of the public are welcome to join but participation is limited to 30 people only. No registration fee is required.
